In 2018, I went from working in FinTech SaaS to farming walnuts. I walked into an industry that was not positioned for success and I knew had to change the story. 


The problem was, there was no path. No one had gone before to show the way. I had to learn to walk in the dark and pull in resources from far and wide to span the gaps in my skills.


As a result, my wife and I built a profitable business from Day 1 that has changed our lives and given thousands of people a new way to snack.

Building a New Market

After designing an innovative product from the ground up --including manufacturing, regulations, and packaging design-- we had to build a marketplace full of customers to buy the product.


With hard work, an unfading smile, and finding gaps in marketing to step into, we were able to scale from our first customer to over 500 in three months. Now, three years later, we have over 5,000 customers.

Becoming a leader I'd want to follow

Innovating a new product and building a market wouldn't matter much unless there is a cohesive and powerful team behind the movement.


Early on we committed to do the internal growth needed to be leaders we ourselves would want to follow. And we committed to grow excellent teams, full of people smarter than us and with skills and experiences far outside our own.

As someone who is a multi-passionate achiever, I have had the pleasure of making an impact in a wide array of work experience.

FinTech SaaS

As an onboarding manager for Riskalyze, I managed a caseload of 180 clients at a time, working them through a customer success flow, managing technical implementation, and addressing cancelation requests.

Executive Team Lead

As the Human Resources Executive Team Lead for a $50M store, I managed the hiring and firing of 200+ employees, a weekly 5,000 hr payroll schedule, leading the team from the lowest morale to the second highest morale in just one year, and saw 13 team members promoted through personal development efforts.

Farm-to-Fork eCommerce

As the co-founder of Tenderlyrooted, I oversaw the development of the brand from the ground up. Product ideation, design, manufacturing, marketing, sales, customer lifecycle, and finances all fell under my purview. Growing the business alongside my wife from $0 in sales to $400,000 in 2023 has been a great joy.

The saying goes, "I can't see the forest through the trees." This is my unique magic: I can see both the forest and the trees. And you, as an individual in a big world, matter deeply. Having a big picture vision that has deep roots in your personal life matters greatly.

Trust + clarity = momentum

Organizational friction is a function of team trust and clarity of communication. To go farther, leaders must build trust on their teams (through consistency & reliability) and communicate clearly and often in a way that grows alignment and collaboration. This is the engine of momentum on teams.

Inner work = outer impact

The most elite leaders who endure for decades are those who spend significant energy on their inner growth as a person. Setting aside ego, these leaders see the world as it is in an undefended way. Because of this, they are able to see opportunities and avoid traps that cause others to choke.

Born and raised in Northern California, I left when I was 13 never imagining I'd ever come back. I attended University in Stockton, moved to the suburbs, then moved back to the farm in 2018.

Kenya & Uganda

I attended boarding school in Kenya for 3 years of high school, then later moved to Northern Uganda with my wife, Jenn. I did clean water projects and she ran a social entrepreneurship business empowering women.

Den Haag, Delhi, and Beyond

My work has taken me to 18 countries on multiple continents. I enjoy sinking into the rhythm, flow, priorities, and diet of my hosts in each place I go.

There is no greater joy than seeing you, my fellow human, flourish into the the person that only you can be. You bring something magical to the world I can't; and I also bring something magical to your life that you need.
